Image editing is becoming more and more popular not just among artists and photographers but also among average computer users. That’s because there are numerous programs for editing images on the market. Unfortunately, most of them don’t offer a good balance between simplicity and functionality, being either too simple or too complicated. Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Paint, for example, are two of the programs which can fit in this category. Still, there are some programs that offer just what the user wants, without crowding the interface and making the functionality too complicated. Design Box is one of these programs.
It’s a simple Windows application which allows editing a wide range of image formats and also creating images from scratch, using various drawing tools. It’s very simple to install and has a very intuitive interface. When running the program, one just needs to open a desired image into the program. After doing this, the user can customize some quality settings regarding the image, like the brightness, contrast, saturation or sharpness. Doing this may improve a photo and can also bring an interesting effect to it. Speaking about effects, there are many of them located in the program’s library, organized in certain categories, for making them easier to find. These effects can make your photos true pieces of art and allows you to personalize them in any way you want it.
But the program doesn’t only limit to editing photos and applying effects to them, as it also allows creating drawings from scratch using numerous tools. These tools are similar to the ones found in Photoshop or Paint, but their number is greater. Design Box can also convert, rename, resize and add watermarks to more images at the same time. This feature is great for publishing photos on the web and protecting them against unauthorized copying.
What’s more, Design Box can create animated GIF logos for using them in any kind of website. These logos can display scrolling images and can have their resolution configured. Furthermore, icons for the iOS operating system can also be created using image files as source.
Pros:
It supports a wide range of image formats. Besides that, there are a lot of effects available in the program’s library and each of them can be customized. Furthermore, more photos can be resized, renamed and converted into another format, all at the same time.
Cons:
Having so many features available, a user may need some time to get used to the interface.
